Manufactured Wood Burning Fireplaces Change-Outs

There are two types of wood burning fireplaces available today, a traditional open wood burning fireplace
and a high-efficiency wood burning fireplace (operates with door closed).

Traditional Wood Burning Fireplace

As beautiful as masonry fireplaces are, they have some drawbacks, particularly when it comes to heat production. These fireplaces are completely open, which means the majority of the heat they create is lost right up the chimney.

Manufactured wood fireplaces operate on a closed system that allows the appliance  to carry heat-efficiency ratings that are much higher than an open masonry fireplace.

Most manufactured fireplaces have a life of 20 to 25 years, so if your unit is getting to that age it may be time to consider a change-out.

Heat production is a major difference between manufactured wood burning fireplaces and wood-burning masonry fireplaces. But there are other differences you may be interested in. We can explain all of the benefits when we talk.

Fireplace Change-Out

If you have a home built over 15 years ago, the manufactured fireplace that was installed was likely vented into a chimney chase. From the outside you would see the chimney structure which is built of wood and typically sided similar to the home or with brick or stone. This is very different from a traditional masonry fireplace which may have a solid brick or stone construction.

After 20 years many of the manufactured fireplaces are starting to show wear and not working as well as they should. This can be remedied by having us perform a fireplace change-out. The existing manufactured chimney box and venting will likely all need to be removed to accommodate a new manufactured fireplace of your choice.

Top Fireplace Brands

IHP and Astria are two well-known wood fireplace brands that our San Bernardino customers really like. We install a lot of these appliances because they’re among the best on the market today.

Every IHP and Astria fireplace is built with care and includes the latest state-of-the-art technology for functionality, efficiency and safety.

Unmatched Beauty

If you’re the type of person who loves the look of a real wood fire, opt for a wood burning unit.  All the robust visuals you expect with a traditional open masonry fireplace will be yours with your new pre-built unit.

Along with the excitement inside the firebox, these fireplaces come in a variety of handsome finishes, colors and design styles that will perfectly accent your home’s décor.

Ultimate Safety

Wood-burning manufactured fireplaces are gorgeous to look at, and they’re also ultimately safe. They’re heavily insulated, making them able to be placed within the  proximity to walls, flooring, insulation and other home building materials that building codes allow.
